Celebrate Garden Month with Your Pet

Garden DogThis month we are celebrating Garden Month and, here at Pet Tags, we believe that you and your pet should join in the fun and games. Whether you are the owner of a cat or dog, or perhaps even both, you can take them into the garden and join in the celebrations.

However, before you venture into the garden, you will need to ensure that your pet is as safe as possible. They should be wearing a cat or dog ID tag with all of the relevant information on it, just in case they should somehow break free from the garden and take off on an adventure!

Garden Activities with Your Pet

Once the proper precautions have been taken, you are free to join in with the celebrations for Garden Month! Some suitable activities that you and your pet could take part in include:
  • A game of fetch with your dog (or very well trained cat)
  • You could let your pet chase after you (it’s bound to leave both of you tired afterwards!)
  • Build a cat or dog house that they can use in the summer when it’s too hot inside
  • Create an agility course for the pair of you to enjoy together and allow your dog to learn new skills and tire themselves out mentally as well as physically
  • Get an old football out and encourage your dog to play with you – if they get a bit handy with their teeth and bite through the material, who cares? It’s only an old ball, after all
  • Water fight! Grab a water gun and squirt at your dog – most pooches will love this, but if you see any signs that say otherwise then stop right away
  • If the weather is nice, why not have a garden lunch together?
Of course, these are only a few of the activities that you can enjoy with your pet in the garden. Just keep in mind that no matter how much effort you may put into keeping your four-legged friend safe, nothing is 100% foolproof, so make sure that they are wearing a cat or dog ID tag at all times.
Don’t sit inside - get out and celebrate Garden Month with your pet!
