We love our pets, be they furry, feathered, scaly or hairless. They bring us happiness and complete our families. Their unconditional love is enough to brighten the darkest of days and even the most hapless pup knows when their master needs a cuddle. That’s why it’s important to keep their safety in mind. Lost dogs can sometimes never be reunited with their owners and even worse, face serious injury when roaming around unsupervised.

The Smart Tag is enabled with NFC and features a scannable QR code. When scanned with a smartphone, the tag reveals your selected information to anybody who comes across your lost dog. On request, the Smart Tag can email you the current GPS location and make available other important information such as vet details or medical requirements.
With the summer months fast approaching, owners tend to allow their pets more freedom to roam between the garden and the house - fantastic for allowing your friend to feel the fresh grass under their paws but without keen supervision, sometimes that fence isn’t quite enough to keep them from following their nose. In addition to a new law – enforced from 2016 – that requires all dogs to be microchipped with the relevant information.

Dog Tags and Leash Training

Leash training is an important aspect of any dog’s life and ideally should be taught – in short bursts – from the moment your new dog moves in. The first step is to get a comfortable collar - nothing too loose that can potentially be snagged and nothing too tight that restricts movement or breathing. Additionally, a quality dog tag is a must - lightweight, aluminium tags are fantastic starters (particularly for smaller breeds) which can be upgraded to a more durable fashion/designer or brass/steel as your dog grows stronger and bigger.
Before you take the training outside, it’s recommended that you spend a short amount of time each day walking your dog whilst on the leash through the house, gradually allowing them to adjust to being on a lead before facing the great outdoors. The more confident you are handling your new dog on the leash, the more confident they feel being leash-led.
